"Thanks for taking my hand, opening my mind, touching my heart and shaping my future. You are all my best teachers forever. Trust me: I will use what I have learned from you in all of my teaching. I will teach my students as you have done to me." - Comment from past participant
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
SFU partners with overseas universities, colleges and educational organizations to offer international teacher education programs designed to complement the home university study programs.
The program offers teachers from overseas countries a professional development opportunity designed to enhance knowledge, skills and abilities in the teaching of English as a Foreign or Second Language (EFL/ESL). Supporting this primary objective is the strengthening of English language communication skills.
A series of workshops, seminars, discussion sessions and school visits constitutes the basic program. The development of individual Action Plans requires participating teachers to apply their understanding of current EFL/ESL theories and practices to the development of ideas and strategies applicable to home professional environments.
